“And the best movie 2008 is…” Goya Awards are awards, presented annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain, to recognize the best professionals for each category in the film industry (directors, actors and writers) – it is like the Academy Oscars Awards. February, 1st was the day to reward those professionals for their work realized in 2008 and “Camino” was the winner during this night with 6 Goya including best movie, best director and best original script. The movie of Javier Fesser, inspired by a true story, tells about an Opus Dei family who has to |
confront the sickness and death of their girl Alexia who died at 14 years old. The other 3 Goya was for Carmen Elías (best actress) , Jordi Dauder (best supporting actor) and Nerea Camacho (best revelation actress).

- “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” movie, best supporting actress (Penélope Cruz)
- “The Argentine” movie, best actor (Benicio del Toro)
- “Los girasoles ciegos” movie, best adapted script (José Luis Cuerda and Rafael Azcona)
- “Sólo quiero caminar” movie, best photography
- “El truco del manco” movie, best original song (a tientas), best revelation actor (Juan Manuel Montilla) and best novel director (Santiago A. Zannou)
- “The Oxford murders” movie, best original music (Roque Baños), best direction of production and best editing (Alejandro Lázaro)
- The Honor Goya was for Jess Franco who directed 188 movies and considered by many like “the most dangerous director in the world”.
