Have you heard about the new way to make a movie more interactive ??? I don’t talk about 3D but about a movie where you can be part of the story but being as spectator. There is a movie called “Last call” from the director Jung von Matt, produced by 13ème Rue and projected for the moment in some theaters at Berlin in Germany and in some festivals. The concept is the following. Before to get in the room, people receive a flyer on which they have to give their cell phone number (if they want). At the moment of the movie, the main character will be trapped inside a house and chased by a killer, the girl will pick up her phone and call someone in the room randomly. |
This lucky person (or not) has to help her by answering a question. For example, you get the call and she will ask you something like “where I go, right or left” or “do I have to save my friend or just run”… and she will act according to your answer until that the killer get the phone and tell you something like “now I have your number”.
To create this interactivity, a special software has been created and different sequences and endings have been done for a complete experience.
The bad point that I can see it is the fact that normally, we have to switch off our mobile phone and now with this kind of movie, we will be allow to let it on so what will happen if we receive a call from a friend !!!!
