Everyone knows about the Ipad but do you know about the Eee Pad Transformer ??? And no, it is not the title of the next movie of Transformers but a new tablet computer designed by Asus allowing us to use it either as a tablet or a laptop. Let’s start by the pad, its ultra thin (12.98mm) and light (680g) design is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor and a 10-inch IPS display providing a better wider view than a standard LCD. For people who get used to Google operating system, you won’t be disoriented because it contains the Android 3.1 Honeycomb OS. There are 2 cameras, one in the back with a 5MP |
and one in the front with a 1.2MP so allowing us to shoot and to record in HD then to project our video on TV with its mini HDMI output port and with a great sound because of its 5.1 surround sound system. Moreover, it owns a microSD card slot and we can use it during more or less 9.5 hours without recharging it.

Now let’s go to the transformer part, there is a button, once we will push it, it will transform in a laptop !!! I’m kidding, I shall have wished that it was true !!! In fact, we will have to use its keyboard docking station, once we will connect them together, it will change from a tablet to a laptop giving us more options.
A full keyboard, a touchpad, a 3.5mm audio jack, two USB ports and a SD Card reader. Except that, the docking will extend also the battery life to 16 hours maximum. About the software, we will have the polaris office 3.0 that will allow us to open different types of office documents like documents (doc), spreadsheets (xls) and presentation (ppt) files.

It is really a great idea because it allows us to have both options in one product so we don’t have to choose between a tablet and a laptop and to have so many gadgets at home. About the price, the tablet costs $399 for a 16GB and $499 for a 32GB. The transformer costs an additional $149 if you want to change it to a laptop.
It is already available so if you want to buy it, you don’t need to wait, may be a little if you think to order it online and for more information, go to its official website.
