Thousands of people walked today in the nepalese jungle to meet and to see the young boy Ram Bahadur Bamjom who is considered by majority the reincarnation of Buddha. 18 years old, he is in the Ratanpouri forest, close to a temple - about 95 miles (150 km) south east from Katmandou city where yesterday, he spoke to his faithful after to have disappeared more than 1 year !!! Dressed in white linen and with long hairs until the shoulders, the whole world known him since 2005 and it was at this period that people came to see him meditating, sitting under a tree, during 10 months without eating and drinking !!!

Ram Bahadur Bomjon is born in april 9, 1990 and he is also known as Palden Dorje (his official buddhist name). From the Ratanapuri village (Bara district in Nepal), the Buddha Boy began his meditation on may 16, 2005 in different locations without that anyone knew where exactly. He disappeared from his village beginning of 2006 to reappear somewhere next to Nepal at the end of the year just for few months to disappear again on march 2007 and to be found few days later by the police on march 26, 2007.

People, who know him since his birth including his family, say that during his youngest life, he liked observing people in worship and prayed himself instead to go to play with the other children. Born with a peaceful nature, he started at 5 years old to eat leftovers and get hungry if nothing more. He was accepted in the monkhood of Suhdha and one day, his class went to Lumbini site, birthplace of Gautama Buddha, and instead to go home like the others, he decided to go to Dehradun city to receive additional teaching before to return to his family.

The day he began his meditation on may 16, 2005, he told to his family to not kill animals and to not drink alcohol before to disappear during night time. After some search, he was found meditating under a tree and like any worried mother, she didn’t want to leave without him so he took 6 leaves from the tree and told her “Take these leaves home and keep them in a safe condition. If you lose these leaves, you will not be able to find me. If you keep them safe, I will remain with you forever."

On july 24, 2005, he named himself "Om Namo Buddha Gyani" (translation : salute to the wise Buddha) but the word “gyani” has another meaning and the phrase can be translated as "one who has knowledge of Buddha".

In spite that there were a lot of buddhas before him and infinite in the future, his life became famous because of the resemblance of the legend about Gautama Buddha's enlightenment. In 2005, his followers said that he had the bodhisattva level (person who will reach full enlightenment of buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings) but he considered himself to be at the rinpoche (teacher) level and he said that he will need 6 years more of meditation before to become a Buddha. Another similitude of his destiny is the name of his mother Maya Devi Tamang which is the same name as Buddha mother !!!

Also he got the reputation to not break his meditation to eat and to drink but since nobody was allowed to be close and more when a screen was erected between 5PM and 5AM, some doubt existed.

In december 2005, a Nepalese government committee observed him carefully during 48h just to find out that he didn’t take any food and water but they were prohibited to be closer than 3 meters. Also another group tried to study him but they were prevented by the screen erected at night time.

His second disappearance was on march 11, 2006 and all kind of theories have been told from kidnapping to laundering and at the end, he was found about 3 km south west of his meditation site 8 days later by a group of his followers.

On december 25, 2006, villagers saw him with a sword which is used to protect himself in the jungle and he claimed to eat nothing but herbs. He allowed people to observe him during his meditation only in the condition that they kept some distance and didn’t bother him and on march 8, 2007, he left to find a more quiet place to continue his meditation.

In 2007, Discover Channel produced a documentary called "The Boy With Divine Powers". On the first attempt, they met some difficulties but in the second one, they were able to film him continuously for 96h. No foods, no drinks were taken !!! According to scientists, a normal person should have die from kidney failure after 4 days without drinking and Bomjon didn’t show any signs of normal physical deterioration caused by dehydration. Moreover the team was been able to get close and to inspect the place to find no foods, no drinks and no tricks !!!

On march 26, 2007, police found him inside a bunker-like square ditch of 7 feet which has been built by local people according to his desire to meditate inside the ground and on august 2, 2007, he make his first preaching in the Hallori jungle in front of 3000 people.

“Murder, violence, greed, anger and temptation have made the human world a desperate place. A terrible storm has descended upon the human world, and this is carrying the world towards destruction. There is only one way to save the world and that is through dharma (spiritual practice). When one doesn't walk the righteous path of spiritual practice, this desperate world will surely be destroyed. Therefore, follow the path of spirituality and spread this message to your fellows. Never put obstacles, anger and disbelief in the way of my meditation's mission. I am only showing you the way; you must seek it on your own. What I will be, what I will do, the coming days will reveal. Human salvation, the salvation of all living beings, and peace in the world are my goal and my path. Namo Buddha sangaya, Namo Buddha sangaya, namo sangaya. I am contemplating on the release of this chaotic world from the ocean of emotion, on our detachment from anger and temptation, without straying from the path for even a moment, I am renouncing my own attachment to my life and my home forever, I am working to save all living beings. But in this undisciplined world, my life's practice is reduced to mere entertainment. The practice and devotion of many Buddhas is directed at the world's betterment and happiness. It is essential but very difficult to understand that practice and devotion. But though it is easy to lead this ignorant existence, human beings don't understand that one day we must leave this uncertain world and go with the Lord of Death. Our long attachments with friends and family will dissolve into nothingness. We have to leave behind the wealth and property we have accumulated. What's the use of my happiness, when those who have loved me from the beginning, my mother, father, brothers, relatives are all unhappy. Therefore, to rescue all sentient beings, I have to be Buddha-mind, and emerge from my underground cave to do vajra meditation. To do this I have to realize the right path and knowledge, so do not disturb my practice. My practice detaches me from my body, my soul and this existence. In this situation there will be 72 goddess Kalis. Different gods will be present, along with the sounds of thunder and of tangur, and all the celestial gods and goddesses will be doing puja (worship). So until I have sent a message, do not come here, and please explain this to others. Spread spiritual knowledge and spiritual messages throughout the world. Spread the message of world peace to all. Seek a righteous path and wisdom will be yours.”

Yesterday, he reappeared in the Ratanpuri jungle after 1 year of disappearance and he believed to endow with enlightenment at Bodh Gaya city but Buddhist priests have yet to investigate the young Buddha.
