| Feng shui is based on the energy which is in constant move but the 5 elements of feng shui (water, fire, wood, metal and earth) have their own circle of movement. Following this circulation, we can create a better harmony in our environment by combining the different elements in the same surrounding. The flux circulates in loop and it has the following order:
|
Like the movement of seasons (spring, summer, fall and winter), each element will grow before to be replaced by the next. To a better understanding of their interactions, each one can be defined according to its properties:
- Water represents the renewal
- Wood represents the growth
- Fire represents the strength
- Earth represents the support
- Metal represents the mental
And in chinese medicine, they are defined like:
- Water is the kidney
- Wood is the liver
- Fire is the heart
- Earth is the spleen
- Metal is the lung
Following the order in which you are going to create your environment, you can create a good or a bad flux. Of course the best it is to create a positive flow except if you are looking for a negative one.
For example, creating your surrounding with the following order will bring you an excellent energy : wood, fire, earth, metal, water. Because like the season, each element goes through its period before to go to the next (wood brings fire which creates earth…). This example will bring you a destructive movement : water, fire, metal, wood, earth. Because water extinguishes fire which melts down the metal…
In the case of negative flow, if you want to lessen the effect, put a compatible element between the 2 destructive elements.
Keep in mind that the energy is in constant move and that feng shui is about harmony and balance so privilege this aspect when building your own flux.
