The tripod is the mandatory accessory to take great pictures because it will minimize your tremor during night time or long zoom for example. In fact even during day time, you can find it useful. The point is that within an environment well lighted, even moving a little, you will get a good picture. In the opposite side, within an environment badly lighted, with the same little move, you have more probability to get a blurred photo. So to get a perfect result, you need to have a firm and steady grip. If it is not your case, the best is to use a tripod like me or like other professionals. It exists 2 kinds – classic or flexible one. Each one has its advantage and disadvantage. |
The flexible tripod will able you to position it where you want according to your environment. Since it has flexible joints, you can wrap it around a branch of a tree, a bottle of wine... or even put it straight. The big disadvantage is that it is very small, normally 50 cm maximum but this disadvantage can be an advantage because it is very easy to transport it.
The classic tripod has steady feet so you will not be able to do extraordinary things like the flexible tripod but at least it exists different sizes from the little one to the higher one – 1 meter or more. The disadvantage is that if you have one very high, you need more spaces to transport it in your car, in your bag... it is more bulky.
But even with a classic or a flexible one, you can get a blurred image because when you press the shot button, you can make a little tremor with your finger but at least with a tripod, you reduce much more the probability to get a bad picture and this, it is very important to get a good photo.
The best is to program the shot in automatic mode or use a remote to avoid any kinds of movements. Of course, you can still miss your shot because of a wind, a person who stumble... but that, you can´t control it !!!
