April in Barcelona
One of the most interesting and passionate months in Spain is not for the famous april fair, neither for the traditional festival of the sagrada familia neighborhood, neither the international day of the book but for the holy week and its processions. So talking about it, the holy week is celebrated the last week of lent, the one before easter. At the rambla de catalunya street, you can buy some palm branches, some have a very nice design and above all, don’t miss the processions. pastry chiefs create masterpieces but the traditional one decorated simply with eggs !!! Do you like snails and/or flamenco !!! If so, every thursday at 21h, from the 3rd thursday to the 2nd thursday of june, if you are at Montjuic, go to the restaurant La Caseta del Migdia (passeig migdia 187) and for 19 euros, you will enjoy a flamenco show meanwhile eating snails, charcoal grilled meat, salad, bread, dessert and drink.

The arts libris fair is celebrated the 3rd friday to monday at the Arts Santa Monica Center focusing on the concept of the author's book as an art work defining by the selection of paper and the type of bound. Take note that it is free except the weekend. To know more, visit its official website.

What about strolling with a hat !!! The sunday of the middle of the month, starting from the top of the rambla de catalunya street, people meet there at noon and they will walk down the street, no matter how you will dress because the most important is the hat, simple, strange, fantasy… just be creative.
As you know, the world book days is celebrated on 23rd and in Barcelona, it corresponds also to the sant jordi day, a kind of catalan saint valentine day. The tradition wants that a man offers a rose to a woman and in exchange, she has to give a book.

The barribrossa festival, from the 3rd monday to the last friday, is a cultural event dedicated to the famous catalan poet Joan Brossa. A lot of theaters, live musics and shows will be done during the whole festival. To know everything, check its official website (only in catalan).
The 3rd sunday is celebrated the earth fair between the triumph arch and the ciutadella park. It is the best opportunity to discover an outdoor local market where you will find ecological, recycled and local products. For more information, check its official website (only catalan).
Starting at the same day, the last friday, there are the april fair of Catalonia which lasts 10 days, and the local festival called festa major of the sagrada familia neighborhood, this one lasts 1 week. For the first one, you will have to go to the forum area (plaza fòrum) to enjoy an atmosphere of Seville and flamenco and here, its official website (no english).
