The EGCG benefices of green tea

Among the catechin types (polyphenol family), there is an element which contains a potent plant nutrient called “EGCG” (epigallocatechin gallate). This one offers the following benefices to the green tea:

  • it increases the rate of fat burning in the body and activates fat burning genes in the abdomen
  • it improves the insulin use of the body by balancing blood sugar levels
  • it prevents the growth of the lung cancer cell, restrains colorectal cancers and cause prostate cancer cells to commit suicide
  • it destroys free radicals, consequently helping to fight against diseases (arthritis, diabetes, cancer) and preventing skin damage thus reducing wrinkling and other signs of aging

To prepare it, it is best to steep it for 3 minutes after adding one or 2 spoons in a tea strainer or in a teapot, then if you want, put some ices in your cup to drink it cold. The green tea contains less caffeine than coffee and black tea so don’t mind to drink a lot but it is recommended only 3 cups per day.
